We have selected some activities for you to enjoy during your stay with us. The activities are mainly divided into: 3 hours, half-day, all-day. Under each activity you will find the website that will take you to the explanation.

If you have a Ticino Ticket, you are entitled to use public transportation free of charge, to have a discount on cable cars, ferries and for certain tourist attractions.

VISIT LOCARNO
Visit the beautiful sites of the town of Locarno, including the old town with its historic churches Visconteo Castle and, at a short distance, do not miss Piazza Grande, the center of the city, which is surrounded by buildings with typical Lombardy style arches, columns and porticoes.

SANCTUARY OF THE MADONNA DEL SASSO

SWISSMINIATURE

An interesting miniature reproduction of Switzerland, this open museum has over 128 models that reproduce in the smallest detail the most important buildings and means of transport in Switzerland as well as 3’560 meters of railway in a 1:25 scale.

THE TIBETAN BRIDGE
​
Take a cable car from Monte Carasso-Mornera to Curzùtt and then walk for about 1 hour before reaching the bridge, where you can have an unforgettable experience by walking across the suspended, 130-meter high Tibetan bridge with just emptiness below.

VISIT LUGANO

Discover the largest city in Ticino. The small and romantic streets branch off throughout the city, where art, and modern and historic architecture mix together; the quiet Ciani Park, which overlooks Lake Ceresio and the new Lugano Art and Culture (LAC), are but just a short distance away.

ISLANDS OF BRISSAGO

Discover one of the most beautiful gardens in Switzerland. This botanical garden with more than 1800 subtropical and Mediterranean plants was created by the Baroness of Saint-Léger in the late 1800s.

CARDADA
​
Enjoy the 360° panoramic view of the region and Lake Maggiore from the top of Cardada. Both Cardada and Cimetta can easily be reached in just a few minutes by cable car, starting from Orselina. After your visit, you can choose an alternative way to return to Locarno: paragliding.

CLIMBING
​
Ticino is the perfect place to practice climbing, thanks to the presence of natural crags that offer different climbing possibilities, including routes for beginners as well as for advanced climbers. Ponte Brolla is one of the classical climbing destinations in Ticino.

MONTE GENEROSO

Take the rack train, which has been in operation for over 125 years, from Capolago up to Mount Generoso, where you will find a breathtaking view of the Ceresio Lake and of the lake regions. The famous stone flower, designed by the famous Mario Botta, can be found up there in the mountain.

VERZASCA VALLEY

Verzasca valley is known as the Caribbean of Ticino, because of its crystal clear water. Discover it through its villages, with their typical Ticino style houses, the historic churches, and the craft museums. Take the occasion to try “GoldenEye” Bungee Jumping or take a walk on the Sentierone hiking path along the river.

BELLINZONA AND UNESCO CASTELS

Discover the historical center of Bellinzona by strolling through the narrow streets and squares in the city, as well as the three Castles of Bellinzona, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

THE MAGGIA VALLEY

Discover the largest valley in Ticino. Formed by glacial and fluvial erosion, the Maggia valley offers a spectacular view of nature. Discover the different valleys that make up the Maggia valley, such as the Lavizzara valley, with famous Mario Botta church in Monio, the Bavona valley, with the high and impressive Foroglio waterfall and the Rovana valley.

MONTE TAMARO​

Take the cable car from Rivera up to Alpe Foppa; enjoy the beauty of the natural landscape, the famous Mario Botta church.Possible activities are the crossing from Tamaro to Monte Lema, an unforgettable experience.

THE CENTOVALLI EXPRESS
​
This trip involves a spectacular panoramic train and boat journey to discover the Centovalli, the Vigezzo valley and the lakeshores of Verbano. You will cross mountains, waterfalls, bridges, creeks, small villages and the islands on Lake Maggiore, such as the Island of Brissago and the Borromee Island.
